Our last home game of the season vs Lydney 2s saw us host a fundraising supporter’s lunch for St Peter’s Hospice remembering Wendy Richards and Gary Hesketh. The lunch raised £420 which we will be passing on to St Peters. It was unfortunate timing that the St Peter’s Rugby March coincided with our last home game as our supporters were torn between both events.
I was delighted to see some of the club’s younger supporters including vice chair Kevin Mulvaney and pitch marking team leader Tim Harcombe take part in the Rugby March before watching the Bristol Exeter chaos.
It was an exciting day on the pitch for our teams with the 1st XV winning convincingly against a young and talented Lydney 2nd XV 64-5 and the 2nd XV also in top form winning away at Ashley Down OB 73-14.
With one week of league fixtures left, we hope you can get to one of the final games – the 1s are away at Chipping Sodbury and the 2s are home to University of Bristol V in a title defining game.
